La fotografía (de foto- y -grafía2 ) es el arte y la técnica de obtener imágenes duraderas debido a la acción de la luz.2 Es el proceso de proyectar imágenes y capturarlas, bien por medio del fijado en un medio sensible a la luz o por la conversión en señales electrónicas. Basándose en el principio de la cámara oscura, se proyecta una imagen captada por un pequeño agujero sobre una superficie, de tal forma que el tamaño de la imagen queda reducido. Para capturar y guardar esta imagen, las cámaras fotográficas utilizan película sensible para la fotografía analógica, mientras que en la fotografía digital se emplean sensores CCD, CMOS y memorias digitales. Este término sirve para denominar tanto al conjunto del proceso de obtención de esas imágenes como a su resultado: las propias imágenes obtenidas o «fotografías».



Basándose en el principio de la cámara oscura, se proyecta una imagen captada por un pequeño agujero (fotografía estenopeica) o un(a) lente o conjunto de ello(a)s (lo cual se denomina objetivo), sobre una superficie; para capturar y almacenar esta imagen, las cámaras tradicionales utilizan un soporte cubierto por un compuesto químico sensible a la luz (en la mayoría de ellas, película fotográfica), mientras que en la fotografía digital se emplea un sensor de imagen que divide el cuadro en una rejilla horizontal y vertical de elementos -capturando la luz de cada uno de ellos y convirtiéndola en valores de voltaje-, que se convierten en valores numéricos tras un proceso de conversión analógica-digital, siendo posteriormente transmitidos a un ordenador embebido en el dispositivo, el cual les da un formato y permite su transmisión o su almacenamiento en un medio digital, para su posterior impresión, visualización o análisis.



El término fotografía procede del griego φῶς (raíz φωτ-, phōs, «luz»), y γράφω (raíz γράφ-, graf, «rayar, dibujar, escribir»), que, en conjunto, significa "escribir/grabar con la luz". Antes de que el término fotografía se utilizara, se conocía como daguerrotipia, ya que el descubrimiento fue hecho público por Louis Daguerre, aunque parte de su desarrollo se debió a experiencias previas inéditas de Joseph-Nicéphore Niépce.

A V12 limousine with a $182,600 price tag is an unsurprising entry in this list. It’s the most expensive BMW to insure, but also the biggest and baddest of the Bavarian marque’s lineup. If agents took into account the intimidation factor of this rig, it’s likely the insurance cost would be lower.

The two back seats in the XKR-S are not usable for adult humans, and the seats are too deeply scalloped for child seats to fit into them – so what then, are they for? “Ah!” you exclaim, “They’re there to keep the XKR-S in a different, less sporty insurance category!” But if that’s the case…

… then why is the equally fast, two-seat F-Type V8 S Convertible less expensive to insure? Both have similar supercharged V8 powerplants with aural symphonies beautiful enough to soothe the devil himself. Both are light, twitchy and brutal to drive. We think the underwriters have given the F-Type the “you are so darn pretty” discount.

Speaking of brutal. 8.4L V10 engine? Check. 640 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque? Check. Short wheelbase? Check. Insane handling? Check. Ability to coddle over-exuberant journalists in safety and make them look like track stars? Um, no. This wild beast has a reputation for throwing drivers into trees, fences and off cliffs, earning it an insurance score that makes this seemingly affordable American supercar far less accessible.
